Pretended

Pretended

A Poem by Andromeda
"

semi-emo, but how i feel temporarily.....

"

She always pretended

That she wrote the book of love,

But she

Always knew

It was never enough.

She always pretended

She was the helping hand

When the lights went dim

And no one else could understand,

But she

Always knew

She couldn’t see in the dark

And she couldn’t hold on

Tight enough,

And it was

Never enough.

She always pretended

She penned the words

To the love that

He never—had never—heard,

But she

Always knew,

She didn’t have a clue

What the words to love

Could possibly be,

Though she couldn’t wait to see.

Perhaps sometime

Someday

On some whimsical chance

She’d see,

And be

More than

Never enough.

I really enjoyed this. Great feel and strong ending. A relatable theme to the 'never enough' in life and pretending like you've got it all together when really you feel you are lacking... well expressed. Awsome!
