Fling

Fling

A Poem by Andromeda
"

the title says it all

"

They wrote love in the sky,

And on the ground

With their shadows

St            re            tc            hi            ng

Far and high, high and far

Stretching shadows

Like a dance in sunset’s ballet

They wrote love

With the tools given by the day

And the fools let loose at night;

They wrote love

For the night-passers drifting by—

Wrote until their hearts burst

With love and fright

Fright and love

That time would pass

And they would not be able

To read the words they’d written above,

For shadows only stay so long

And love is not the song

Of merely a single afternoon.

I like how you spread out the words for the "stretching". That makes the poem even cooler. I absolutely love the ending. I honestly don't think that it needs another stanza.

No that was perfect...loved the rhythm, and movement through my thoughts, while reading.
Keep writing, Lyrical
