Golden Lie

Golden Lie

A Poem by Andromeda
"

iffy...experimental

"

Why

Come the words

From the

In-the-darkness/Crack-in-the-wall

Eye:

Why

OhWhyOhWhy

Cries the lie

Watching in the darkness:

A termite in the wall

And

“Why have you forsaken me?

I played my cards so well;

I kept you free

From what you thought

Must be Hell.

I asked for nothing in return,

Just that you

                Let me cling

And dance around at your feet,

And every once in a while,

Perhaps for you to throw me

                A piece of fresh meat.

Why have you forsaken me?”

WhyOhWhyOh,

“Was I not a good

                Not a sweet

                Not your precious

                Little

                Golden Lie?”

 Why

Come the words

From the

In-the-darkness/Crack-in-the-wall

Eye.

No

Comes the answer

From the

Escaping-the-shadow

Eye

Crying

Let me go

You were not a good.

You were not a sweet.

You were not my precious

Little

Golden Lie,

And I like the air

That I breathe

Outside the crack in the wall.
