Roam

Roam

A Poem by Andromeda
"

kinda depressing...

"

One step into a new location

                New destination

                New emancipation

New home—no more

The sideline life of a garden gnome,

And the

Philosophy

Had stripped her raw to the bone:

A guilty glob in her gut

That said

                New emancipation

                She could never go home

                She could never go home

                She could never go home—

Stared out the car window

As the white picket rolled by

Slow as an avalanche

She could never go home—

Woman on a lonesome Roam

Woman on a freedom-hunting Roam:

                New location

                New destination

                New emancipation…

She wondered

And the

Philosophy

Stripped her raw to the bone:

                Was it worth it

                To never go home?

She could never go home?

She was too late jumping out of the car,

As the white picket hid itself from view.

She was locked there—a little too far Roam,

Behind iron bars of New

She could Nevergo home.

I like your poem, you can return home, but as you changed, home did too.

From place to place I roam, and when that place becomes home, then, off I go all alone.
