Collected

Collected

A Poem by Andromeda
"

it all started w/ a pun, then went from there

"

She collected them:

                Sunsets.

She had two thousand perfect pair,

A few ragged around the edges,

And one she misplaced somewhere.

She collected them:

                Sunsets,

And kept them on display

On the coffee table,

For the her guests to see in the Day,

And then

Right before Night

She set them free

And watched them sing in the sky,

Sipping from a tea set,

Waving to them: one by one goodbye.

When reading this, I felt the "she" was Mother Nature, as we are guests in her world.
" She had two thousand perfect pair,
A few ragged around the edges,
And one she misplaced somewhere."
These lines speak to me that even in two thousand perfect pair, none would be the same, some you will remember, others not and that even in nature, there is perfection amoung the imperfect.

Beautifully crafted and I really liked the flow.

I really enjoyed this. I have to agree, it was too cute! I liked the idea of waving them goodbye at the end.
