Mountains in Her Eyes

Mountains in Her Eyes

A Poem by Andromeda
"

inspired by "The Last Resort" by The Eagles, which is an absolutely amazing song

"

She was the girl with

Mountains in her eyes,

Who stuffed her dreams

Into a praying suitcase

To set sail across the land,

Away from the place where the

Sun sank sour in the sky

And it was so hot you

Cannot cry.

She was the girl in

The backseat of the bus,

Sprinkled smile on her face and

Mountains in her eyes,

Who leaned her head back

Against the seat and sighed,

Taking photos with her eyes

Of the land outside the window

Passing by in watercolor stripes,

Freewind-blown.

And as she set sail across the land,

She took her dreams from the suitcase

With one hand,

Pulled down the window,

And wished them free onto the sand,

For who knew what new dreams

The mountains would offer her,

And she was the girl

With mountains in her eyes:

In the backseat of the bus,

A snow-capped pearl.

Written so lyrically, I can almost hear the music! Such a wonderfully vivid dreamscape you created, softly guiding us through one girl's treasured vision. Amazing!

I like the last two lines. They should stay. I like the entire thing, actually. I have a clear image of the girl.
