Written on the Moon

Written on the Moon

A Poem by Andromeda
"

inspired by Josh Groban's "February Song"

"

You held my hand and told me you had to leave—

And my heart, it wept:

Too soon

Too soon

You gave my hand a fragile squeeze and

I wrote my teardrops on the moon.

You whispered to me

Loud as your voice would let

A fragile phrase and

I held my breath not to cry,

But when I got home,

I will not lie

I wrote my teardrops on the moon.

And when I got the call

I knew you’d gone.

My heart, it wept:

Too soon

Too soon,

But as the sun left me to

Write teardrops on the moon again,

I looked

And all I could see

Was the twinkling of the stars

Watching me,

And your last words

Written on the moon.
