Possession

Possession

A Poem by Andromeda
"

?

"

I know where it lurks in the

Corners of the wilderness,

Where the creek runs dry and

The sun’s rays do not run at all,

Where the birds all mock the call

Of the prayers uttered in the silence,

Which binds and mutters that it

Will listen

Will hear

Will bring all care to

Being.

I know

I know

And they do not—

They do not know where it lurks

In the corners of their minds,

Where the shadows bind and

All the would wish to be runs

In a shade of mortal, greedy gray.

It lurks in them and they

Smirk my way

In the bitter realms of my

Day by day by day.

Look my way

Please look my way,

And save me before

Before

I know where it lurks

In all the world—

This grainy, plotting undertone,

Which calls me to be its own.

I know where it lurks in

The place I call my home.

I know

I know

I know where

I know where it lurks

In me.
