Burnt Asphalt

Burnt Asphalt

A Poem by Andromeda
"

expiremental

"

Looks different when you stop

Looks different when you stop

To look around,

When you stop to spy the petals

On the flowers that

Smell like cotton-candy dreams

And the home baseball team

Looks different when you stop

The street on the edge of town,

The street where the cars never slow down

Looks different when you stop

Looks different when you place

Two feet on burnt asphalt,

When you wait for all the cars to halt,

But they never do

Because

Looks different when you stop

It does look different when you stop rather then when you're in the car, going 50 mph down the road and not looking back.
Lovely.
