The Girl Who Held the Hand of Martin Mourie

The Girl Who Held the Hand of Martin Mourie

A Poem by Andromeda
"

ehh, just fiddling around. you can say 'aaaawh' if you want.

"

Martin Mourie was a barber’s son.

Martin Mourie was a poor man’s son.

Martin Mourie was the devil on the street,

Whose heart beat out of beat.

Martin Mourie was the one,

Who put a lasso around the sun,

Brought it down for the

Girl in the polka dot dress to hold—

Scorched her hands with

Sunset’s gold.

Martin Mourie was a friendly man.

Martin Mourie was a loving man.

Martin Mourie was the one who

Held the hand of the girl

Who held the sun.
