They

They

A Poem by Andromeda
"

paranoid much ahahha...uhhhhhhh

"

Shout in the dark as they say—

My last and final hope to

Ever again see the day.

But they say lots of things,

And who they are,

I’m not so certain.

A bullet to the heart—

Another thing they say—

Something to stop me in my tracks

And keep me never back again.

This is the end.

This is the end.

This is the end, they say.

They say lots of things,

Those nameless ones who haunt my life,

Who break it to bits and

Slice the bits up with a long golden knife.

I shout in the dark

And they hear me scream.

Their pistols shout.

Their pistols ring—

A shot to my heart;

Bring her down, they sing.

This is the end.

This is the end.

This is the end, they say.

Who are they—?

These entities—?

These nameless ones,

Whose prey I am—?

I’m not too certain,

Even as I hunt them down:

A bullet to their heart,

My last shout in the dark.
