Trapped

Trapped

A Poem by Andromeda
"

ehhh, not my best. inspired by Chad Wesley Allbret's poem "Winter in Fitzroy"

"

You trapped in summer,

Me caught terrified in winter,

Frozen in the same time zone

As you,

Frozen when you have sun.

Here we are,

Watching the clock,

You in night

And I in the shrill brightness

Of the coldest winter’s day

I’ve ever

Ever seen.

You said you had to get away,

Said you had to see the sun

Rise over the ocean,

Said you didn’t want your life

Ending before it has begun.

I said I had to stay,

Couldn’t run away,

So now I’m trapped in winter,

While you are on the run,

Smiling blindly in summer sun.
