What Could Not Have Been

What Could Not Have Been

A Poem by Andromeda
"

...another one

"

Cat’s eyes hold the lies

Of what could have been—

That truest friend you could have been.

In the darkness that I’ve sunken,

Watch your eyes from up above

And pray all hope I have not broken.

From where I’ve fallen,

My truest friend you could have been,

But my eyes are unopened

And these are only tricks

By the darkness penned.

You’ll walk your way

And I mine

Softly, you say

The cat’s eyes hold the sign.
