Something Wicked

Something Wicked

A Poem by Andromeda
"

about racism

"

Something wicked this way comes

And something happy hides—

Sheep in wolf’s skin,

Not knowing what he keeps within,

Not knowing from what peaceful tides,

Beneath his dark coat

He hides.

Something wicked this way comes

From the suburban witch’s lips

The final say,

The final sum:

The man is a beast to hunt down,

Killing party come gather round.

Men in white suits with white hats

And two-faced frowns:

Clowns of death we are,

They say,

Track him down

Hunt him down

Track him down

Sheep in wolf’s skin

Tonight we’ll

Show his sin,

Bloody his disparate skin.

Something wicked this way comes

Something wicked

Beat the drums.
