The Clot

The Clot

A Poem by Andromeda
"

about depression

"

Her gaze is that big red dot

Which never fades,

And her life is all the lie,

Which was planned out for her

From born to die—

An ever-ruling blood clot

Red dot

Kiss the spot

And hope it better.

This big red spot is

All the rage to claim—

Hide in the cage,

A bird with no name.

This life’s blood clot

Is the faces smeared with

Black eyeliner tears,

Using the pillow to

Muffle fears.

This big red spot

No one could understand

No one will understand

No one dare understand,

For they think it’s just a

Phase she’s going through:

A teenage phase,

Painted depression blue.

But, in her case,

This phase is true—

An ever-ruling blood clot

To rule her life

In muffled pillow stains.

Kiss the spot

And wish to

Make it better
