Linde

Linde

A Poem by Andromeda
"

ongoing character sketch for next book

"

She had midnight eyes

Like the firelight of

Cuban cigars

Burning bright.

And she had diamond hair like

Saturday mornings at the fair:

White sand

And pure air.

She dressed herself in shades of gray

And sung alone for five years’ day:

Hold her hand

And pray.

In the future, she was held trapped;

Lines drawn clear and mapped as

Foul weather

Dreams wrapped.

She was like an angel’s prayer: trapped in

Crystal where only one man could save her—

Midnight hunter’s

Only care.

this reminded me of snow white, with the man come to save her from the glass coffin. overall, fairy tales are awesome. poems that seem like fairy tales are awesome. this is pretty darn awesome.
