Two Types of Poems

Two Types of Poems

A Poem by Andromeda
"

ehhhh

"

The daughter of a writer,

Her father used to tell her

That there are two types of poems—

Daughter, two types of poems in this world.

There are the obedient ones—

            The tamed ones,

            The poems that come

            Exactly when called, exactly when summoned;

The ones,

Daughter,

Whose words line up in your head and pour out through—smile up from the paper at you—the ink of your pre-scripted pen.

The poems that appear

            Suddenly:

Written on a page

Words you

Never knew

You

Owned

Inside.

And then,

Daughter,

And then—

There are the other poems—

The ones whose words

Prefer to stay hidden in the

            Werewolf-Moon Shadows

And show their faces

Only

If

            Bribed.
