Nervous Intelligence

Nervous Intelligence

A Poem by Andromeda

Tim,

Everyone said,

Was a Fidget—

Not fidgety,

No,

He was the definition of

Twisting hair around fingers and rubbing hands together and knocking teeth nervously and flicking pens between thumb and forefinger and crossing and uncrossing arms.

He was always tapping his fingers against the cover of the book he was reading-

Typically something by Shakespeare, Or Tolstoy Or Dickens—

To satisfy his nervous nature.

And he always stuttered when asked a question.
