Linus Webb

Linus Webb

A Poem by Andromeda
"

for school

"

Linus Webb crept in the cold,

Listening to his feet sneak through the night,

Loving it: this darkness-the lack of light.

A knife's blade he clung to with demonic hold.

Yellow, he thought, his eyes must shimmer

Yellow—but not his heart.

This blackness made him feel the part:

The moon a Midnight Hunter's sliver.

For practice, he slashed with his knife:

Slashed the clouds, which fought weakly for life.

He screamed a warrior's cry for a warrior's fight,

Felt it echo and shatter-make shiver-the night.

When he reached the friendly door,

He fixed his face with a fearsome grin

And rapped to be let in.

"Trick or treat," he yelled, "Give me candy! Give me more!"
