Haunt the Night

Haunt the Night

A Poem by Andromeda
"

...

"

Haunt the night:

Steal the sun and burn it bright—

Burn it blinding and overmuch,

Burn it out, leave no light with which the Earth to touch.

Haunt the night:

Conceal all with imperfect sight—

Shroud with shadow, drown with dark,

Let all surrender to the Moon-Man’s lark.

Haunt the night:

Twisted soul’s delight—

Hook the moon up in the sky,

And beckon all our hopes and dreams to die.

Haunt the night:

Wrap the cloak of gloom most tight—

Creep in through the corners of the room,

Haunt the night and call this doom
