Emo Girl

Emo Girl

A Poem by Andromeda
"

an expirement

"

Lime green belt around her waist,

Ten thousand phrases in her head that she wouldn’t want to waste.

She opens the door, but doesn’t walk on thru—

Stopped by the hateful glance that you threw.

She listens to The Fray and is lost in it too;

She wishes she weren’t the one that you gave your anger to.

She’s on the ride of her life without a brake.

Slow down, She’s starting to       break.

She wishes that for relief she didn’t have to wait:

Her sorrow has too much weight.

She sees herself as a creature that no one could ever care to know

That’s the only answer she ever gets: no, no, no.

There’s a sign that used to be on her heart, which used to read: “come on in”,

But then, her heart became an inn—

To full

And with no leftover fuel.

Her soul, though, you cannot buy—

Not that you even care as you walk on by.

Goodbye                Goodbye

To you she isn’t worth a cent;

Her heart is in a gift-wrapped package that she just sent

To a mailbox in the corner of Nowhere:

It’s time for a cleaning after too much wear.

And when she was little she used to think that emo meant

A large Australian flightless bird similar to the ostrich.
