Those Darn TearsA Poem by Suelou
Those Darn Tears
One of my greatest fears is that If those tears ever do start to flow They would never stop But, she tells me I should let go
At times I think she doesn't think I am even listening to her Her words stick in my head like glue Oh, if only she knew all I remember
Shed the tears and feel the pain is Something I just don't want to do Let those tears cleanse your soul They might just ease the pain, too
I have heard this from a few now They must be working together It's not that I think they are wrong They care, or they wouldn't bother
To sit here in this house alone Just bawling my eyes out Seems awfully foolish to me Surely there is another route
The thing I might not have mentioned Something I think I failed to tell you Is once in a while, one of those darn tears Somehow manages to slip right through
