Chapter 11

School went by quickly that day. We stopped at the pet store on the way to the movies like we'd planned. We got a black collar and tag with orange lettering saying my address and her name. We also picked out some toys, kitten food, and placed an order for a special bowl with her name on it. I decided against getting her a bed sine the last cat we'd had never used it and always slept with me or my mom. We picked out a plain litter box and got some special kitten litter, the kind that wouldn't hurt her paws since her claws were only just growing in. To top it all off, we picked out some treats and a few cans of tuna for special occasions.
We payed the cashier and the five of us carried everything out to the truck. We put the bags an litter box in the bed of the truck. The cashier told us we could come by in about three and a half hours to pick up the bowl which will have Orangheart's name engraved into it - plenty of time to watch a movie.
Which we did. We drove to te theatre and decided on a movie to watch. We settled into our seats with our popcorn and drinks just as the lights dimmed. I was sitting between John and Jenna, with Jake on John's other side and Susan on Jenna's.

After the movie, we walked out of the theatre and started toward the truck. We'd only just reached it when I heard a familiar voice behind us.
"Sam?" His voice called out. I glanced over my shoulder and, sure enough, Leo was walking our way.
"Sam...?" Jenna asked uneasily.
"You guys get in. I'll only be a minute" I said.
Jenna looked at me warily but nodded and climbed into the back of the truck with Susan. Jake climbed into the passenger side and John, hesitantly, climbed into the driver's side.
I walked over to meet Leo. "Hi" I said.
"Hey. I didn't know you'd be out so late" he said awkwardly.
"It's only seven-thirty" I answered.
"Er... Right... Well, um... I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime... Maybe get some pizza and see a movie?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Like a date?" I asked.
"Well... Only if you want to..." He stammered.
I smiled. "That'd be fun. How's Friday after school?" I asked.
"Yeah... Yeah that's cool... I'll see you tomorrow at school" he said quickly and walked away blushing.
I chuckled and climbed into the truck with the rest of the group. Friday would give me two days since today was Wednesday.
"What'd he want?" Jenna and John asked in unison.
"A date" I answered.
"What'd you say?" Asked Susan.
"I told him sure. We're gonna get some pizza and go see a movie this Friday" I told her.
"Are you sure about this? I don't think that's in your best interest" Jake said.
"It's one date. It's not like it'll be a regular thing" I replied.
"Alright alright. Let's go get Orangeheart's bowl and then go see the little thing!" Jenna said excitedly.
We all laughed, the tension disappearing. Jenna knew how to lighten any mood.
John drove us to the pet store where we picked up the bowl, then drove us back to my house.

You forgot a letter in the 10th line, right before the word “theater.” Overall, though, chapter two is just as good as chapter 1! Falling in love with a fellow musician you’re doing a duet with... never done that before...;)
