You Are My Eyes

You Are My Eyes

A Poem by SmallBones

Actions defying
While I'm losing grip,
I sit in fear
Of the love that I've missed.

You are my eyes,
My ears and my heart.
I'd rethink my life
If it meant a fresh start.

You are the only,
The tried and the true.
I'd undress my soul
Just to get through to you.

You are my partner,
The spark and the love.
For you I would fly,
Let my soul rise above.

You are my senses,
My taste and my sight.
You open the curtains
And let in the light.

Words are not helping
I'm slipping away.
I guess I'll just sleep
Until a new day.
