Paved

Paved

A Poem by Jared
"

I hope you can catch the meaning.

"
Millions of years ago
New York was hot
feral beasts stalked the ground
without a trace
of human kind

Those animals died
Fossils formed
history preserved
forever.

Millions of Years Later
there is a modern metropolis
Millions of people
where there were none before

As i walk the streets
I think
What is really under my feet?
Pavement?
Or the past?

Modern
Means Now
Some people think we have it all figured out
But don't you  think
The ancients can teach us
just as much as
the  scientists of today?

Love the tempo....was unexpected and when it finally fell into place, was beautiful.

You are correct. The past can teach great wisdom. If the men in-charge of this world read History. War would stop. They would understand War doesn't change the world too much. They would understand in the end. All the people of this world is one. A excellent poem. Made me think this morning.
