Dreams Can't Take The Place Of Loving YouA Story by MandaJust a little fan fiction I wrote once before... then my computer died so now I have to rewrite it.
My brown eyes lifted from the book I was holding. They scanned the room carefully as I saw only two of my three favorite boys. Nick, who was standing by the mini fridge, took a sip of his juice his eyes then landed onto me. My attention then directed to Kevin who sat with his newly appointed wife on the second bed in the hotel room we were all hanging out in that night.
I sighed as I scanned the room again, looking for the third Jonas. He wasn't in the room. My eyes landed back on Kevin who was whispering sweet comments into Dani's ear. I smiled at how cute the two love birds were. I wished I had something like that. Someone who would care for me and treat me like I was worth something more then what I thought of myself. Worst of all, I wish It was Joe who was the one who made me feel so special. Secretly I had a crush on him. Thinking about him always made the butterflies go off in my stomach. Nick cleared his throat, making me snap back into reality. I looked up at him, I guess he noticed I was zoning out. "You okay?" He asked me while screwing the lid back onto his juice bottle. I shook my head, "Uh, yeah. Fine Nick... just fine." I looked from Nick then to Kevin and Dani, who both were now staring at me with goofy smiles on their faces. My eyes narrowed at them, "Where's Joe?" I asked Nick with my eyes locked onto Dani and Kevin's goofy smiles. Nick paused at first. This made me look back at him, a small smile formed on his lips. "Out on the Balcony." He shrugged. I closed the book I was reading and sat up. I was irritated that everyone was staring at me in such a weird way. "Why is everyone staring at me?" I asked them, "was it something I said?" "No, no, not at all." Nick reassured me with a smile. I sighed and looked at the sliding glass door. I saw Joe standing against the balcony looking out at the view. A small smile appeared on my face before I took a deep breath. He must of went out there when I was reading, if I get too into a book I don't pay attention to what is going on around me. I headed for the sliding glass doors, and stopped when a black canon camera caught my eye. Joe's camera, which I was madly in love with, was lying on the little kitchen table that was sitting by the double doors. I picked it up without thinking and placed the straps around my neck. I held it to my chest with both hands then headed out the glass doors. I took a snapshot of Joe, he didn't react so I closed the doors behind me and then walked cautiously up to him. "Joe?" I smiled. After a few minute pause, he didn't reply. "Joe?" I repeated myself, my smile slowly faded. He still didn't reply to me. "Fine... I guess I'll go..." I suggested. "No." He said, making me jump. "You can stay if you want." The wind then blew my hair slightly, my short brown bangs landed in my face so I tried pushing them back behind my ear. It wasn't working out for me though, since my hair is usually cut extremely short. I then joined Joe at the railing, I leaned my back to it so I was facing the building, not the view. Then I stared up at Joe. "Are you alright?" I asked him. "Eh. So-so. I was just thinking." He sighed, lowering his head slightly. "About what?" "A girl." Joe replied, finally smiling as if he was thinking about said girl. My heart then sank. "Oh... Want to talk about it?' I asked, trying to be a real friend, even though talking about girls with Joe always ends with my heart broken. Joe sighed then looked at me, his smiled had faded. "Just that I like her and whatnot." He looked back to the view. "I don't know what else to say about her." I turned around and rest my head onto my hands while looking out at the view before us. "Wow!" I said out loud, finally I smiled again, "It's beautiful." "Yeah." Joe was now smiling as well. "I want to live somewhere as beautiful as this one day." I smirked. "In the Bahamas?" Joe asked me, sort of in a whisper. I looked up to see him staring at me curiously. I laughed slightly, "No, Joe. Somewhere beautiful. Like everyday I walk out my front door and my breath is taken away." I smiled even bigger. "Sort of how this took my breath away." I shrugged. Joe stared at me for a few minutes with a blank expression then a small smile formed on his lips, "I like that." He stated. Then he turned back to the view, "I like that a lot, actually." He sighed, "I would like that as well... maybe living with my girl too." He looked at me, he was blushing. "Joe?" I questioned. Joe's eyes widened and then he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Erm, forgive me Amanda." I looked at him confused, "For what?" I asked him. He looked back at me and opened his mouth but before he could speak I interrupted him, "Never mind. You're so weird." I smiled once more. Joe chuckled in disagreement, "Yeah, I'm the weird one." Joe rolled his eyes playfully. I looked up at him. My fingers tapped his camera lightly while his eyes scanned it for a minute. "I'm not the one," Joe looked back up at me. "Who was rocking out to her MP3 player, while wearing only a Jonas Brothers band shirt and a pair of boy boxers." I eyed him for a few minutes then smiled, "At least I wasn't video tapped doing the single ladies dance in nothing but a leotard and high heels, buddy." "Tu-shay." Joe smiled. "Far enough, miss." He eyed me with that goofy smile still on his face. His eyes once again landed back onto his camera that I held closely to my chest to protect it. I looked back out at the view and then smiled. I knew I needed a picture of it, so I stepped forward slightly. I then turned the camera on, held it up, and took a snapshot of the view. I looked down at the picture I have just taken to see how it looked and then I smirked. I could feel Joe's eyes on me the whole time, I tried ignoring him though. "So this girl," Joe spoke up again. I looked up at him. My smile was gone now, but I tried to smile anyways. "Do I know, said girl?" "You can say that." Joe leaned onto the railing. He eyed me once more as I turned off the camera and placed it against my chest again. "I thought you said your taking a break on love." I reminded him. Joe shrugged, "Yeah, well, I couldn't help it with her." "What makes her so special?" I said ruder then I wanted to, obviously I was jealous. I can honestly say that I have never really felt jealousy before. Well, till I met Joe. I'm jealous of every single girl whose ever hugged him, touched him, held him, and kissed him. Joe chuckled slightly, I guess he noticed my jealousy. "Well, a lot. I like her attitude on the world, ya know. She's different then who I normally fall for. She's stubborn, lazy, loud, but quiet when she's thinking about something. She scares easily, which I hate to admit but I like it when she runs to my side if a fan or something freaks her out. She's kind hearted and loves animals. One of my biggest fans, and one of my closest friends." He stared at me as I looked up at him again. "Sounds sort of like me." I joked. Joe turned red though. "Well," He continued, while getting colour back onto his face. "She's stubborn, as I stated. She has a larger ego then myself. She hates love, beats me, tells me I'm an idiot... well, her idiot, and even when she gets mad at me for doing something ridiculously stupid, she gives me butterflies, like I have never felt before." He looked away from me, now he was a firetruck red. "Wow..." I stared up at Joe, "She sounds... god awful." I smiled. Joe turned back to me, a smile appeared across his soft lips when he noticed me smiling back at him. "You know who she is... right?" I acted like I was thinking hard about it, "Hmmm... I don-" Then Joe cut me off, his beautiful lips collided with mine. As we started off the kiss our brown eyes (Mine less gorgeous then his, of course) stared at each other, then out eyelids slid tightly shut. When we pulled away I stared up at him, "Wow..." I paused for a second, licking my bottom lip. "So, who's the girl?" I continued with a cocky smile on my face. Joe smiled and pulled me into a tight hug. Once we hugged Joe cleared his throat, "We were being watched." He whispered, I looked over to the sliding glass door. Nick, Kevin and Dani were staring at us. They then acted as if they weren't doing anything wrong and walked away from the door, pretending to whistle like a couple of idiots. Joe turned back to me, I turned to him as well. I rested my hand against his stubble on his cheek and made a "grossed out" expression. "Oh, sorry... the scruff... you know..." Joe smiled. "No, it's beautiful..." I scanned his features. "So are you." His giant hand landed on my petite one that rested on his cheek. "You know what, I think you like me, Manda." Joe stated. "What was your first guess?" I glared up at him. Joe smiled back at me. © 2010 MandaFeatured Review
