The Secret.A Chapter by MandaIsabel brought Anne down a secret passage way, no one knew about but her. It was dark and scared Anne a little. She shivered as she walked behind Isabel, but then came to a stop at a door. Isabel slowly turned the knob and walked in. The room became bright and Anne had to rub her eyes as she walked in. Then froze at the sight she saw. There were animals everywhere; there was a white donkey, a lizard, a dog, a cat, and a monkey. Anne walked in looking around. “Where do the animals go to the bathroom at?” Anne asked. Isabel looked down at Anne and smiled. “Well...” she started to say as she walked towards a door in the back. She opened it and all the animals looked in her direction, they then started stomping out of the door into the bushes and trees in the back where no on would see them. Isabel started to look around. “Where is he?” she said out loud. “Who?” asked Anne. “Nim…” “Who is Nim?” Then Isabel pointed up into the sky. Anne’s eyes followed Isabel’s finger. There was a black shape gaining up on them. Anne squinted her eyes wondering what it could be; it was way too big to be a bird. Then she froze as it came closer; she could see what kind of creature, but didn’t believe it. The creature landed in front of Isabel and nuzzled her hand; then it looked at Anne. It stepped up to her slowly, sniffing her. Then, the most unexpected thing happen; it spoke. “Who are you?” it asked. “A-A-Anne…” The girl stuttered. “And what the heck are you?” “I’m a wolf, stupid human.” The creature rolled his eyes. “And my name is Nim.” Nim flapped his wings. “But…” Anne looked at Nim’s wings. “Wolves…” Nim interrupted her. “Don’t have wings?” Nim rolled his eyes once again. “I’m a wolf, believe me. I may not be like other wolves but I’m a wolf none the less.” Anne nodded. “You have to excuse Nim.” Isabel started to say. “He doesn’t like humans, and could be rude at points. Nim looked at Isabel then at Anne. Anne studied the wolf. He was bigger then most wolves and built differently. He was muscular and seemed strong and stubborn. He was all black besides for his perfect white star shape on his forehead and his big scaly but soft purple wings. His paws were massive and so were his claws. He looked like he was never brushed and never had his nails clipped in his life. His big white fangs stuck out of his mouth even when his mouth was closed and his eyes where a light icy blue color. His ears stood straight up on his head and once in a while they would twitch like he was listening for danger. Then there was a voice that canceled out Anne’s thinking. “Anne!” screamed the voice. “The lord needs you to fix him some lunch!” Anne let out a sigh and turned around and walked back through the passed way. © 2008 Manda |
