Middle of the Night

I have this thing where I can't sleep unless I'm exhausted. That usually doesn't happen until 5 AM. And so this is born.

It’s the middle of the night
And I just want to sleep
But every time I close my eyes
Awareness just won’t leave me

Half sleep becomes me
As twelve turns to three
And no matter what I do
Confusing images haunt me

It’s the middle of the night
And I just want to sleep
The computer screen is bright
And exhaustion creeps on me

It’s the middle of the night
And I just want to sleep
Suddenly it’s five AM
And my dreams welcome me
