Bitter Woman

Bitter Woman

A Poem by LiliansGift

She lived on her knees
Speaking dark thoughts of release
And I watched helpless
As she ignored my pleas

Life slipped through her fingers
As age ran its course
Her eyes went dull
Her voice going horse

She died a bitter death
Regrets spoken with labored breath
While I sat at her bedside
The Bitter Woman finally died

I think it would be better to speak of any last regrets in those last moments than to carry them into the afterworld, where only god knows they may come around to haunt you again.
I kinda saw this as a nursing assistant or the like having to be there for the elderly at a nursing home. That's image that I got. =)
