The ElementsA Poem by LiliansGiftWritten about a year ago.
The air caresses my face, wiping my tears
The fire warms me from the hearth, chasing away the cold The water soothes my pains, washing away all traces The earth grounds me, making sure I never fall The elements surround me in love The elements are always there The elements make this world bearable I love the crisp air of the night I love the burning heat of the fire I love the cool silk of the water I love the velvet dirt of the earth They surround me And ground me And take my breath away With their presence But they can be cruel The air can smother you The fire can burn you The water can drown you The earth can swallow you But you can be cruel as well It all depends on your point of view © 2012 LiliansGiftAuthor's Note
