Tire Swing

Tire Swing

Why do you do this to me?
Push and pull
Like I’m a tire swing

You say I’m so strong
But you have not a clue
How close I came to falling

Did you know it killed me inside?
To watch you smile
And think I’m alright

Do know how It felt on the river walk?
The time I was picking up the pieces
Without you by my side

I love you to death
But you push push push
And I snap

While you saw me standing
I was on my knees
Bleeding inside and out
Pleading for release

As your people die
And I’m by your side
You’ll never know

That coffin was almost mine
