The Perfect Note

A poem about how hard it is to find the right person.

I was searching for a note
That would help complete my song.
I couldn’t bear it,
I had waited so long.

Then I found a note that
Seemed so perfect.
It seemed as though
The note was worth it.

So I threw it in
Without hesitation.
But the outcome
Was nothing short of devastation

I understand why it
Was so wrong.
It just didn’t fit
Into that part of the song.

I could tell it
didn’t feel right.
So I moved it to another part
Without a fight.

I do wish it remained
In its original spot.
But this is for the better,
Whether I like it or not.

I know the attempt
wasn’t a complete fail.
I did get to know that
Note very well.

I’m still searching for the perfect note,
For that part of my song.
I just hope I do not
Have to wait so very long.

Unlike Pete,
My song isn’t quite over.
The note is coming,
It’s getting closer and closer

I wont quit
Until I find that note.
The one that will stop my pain,
Like my personal anti-dote.
