She Didn't Love Me

She Didn't Love Me

A Poem by Evan Scott
"

An encounter with a person who confuses the heart and the penis.

"
She didn't love me

When the sun came up

She didn't love me

When she picked up her clothes

And left in the cold morning

She didn't love me

When her friends would call for her

She didn't love me

When she was in love

With the bottoms of my bottles

And the drags of my smoke

She loved me

When she didn't love herself

She loved me

When she had no one else

She loved me

When she felt lonely

She loved me

For materials only

She never loved me

"She loved me
when she had no one else."

...such a painful analogy and awakening. Nicely said, Evan.

love can be cruel sometimes, and often, people say "I love you" when they do not really know what that means.
Insightful writing.
