Yesterday

Yesterday

A Poem by Jay

From moonlight hours to twilight bright

My daylights sorrows still abide

And my shadow grows shallow drowns in night

As my soul it wallows in liquid fright

And my heart it follows sinking in a hollow light

As the raven black devours my delight

My dear beloved maiden

My moon amidst the gloom

Your brilliant face has faded

In my aphotic view

My dear beloved angel

My joy with you it flew

Your wings are lacerated

And nepenthe won’t do

Shackled with chains of gold

Aqua Regia won’t dissolve

The placid sentence of my soul

My beloved spirit is no more

No more
