A place for peace

A place for peace

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I brought enough wood

to get the smoke twirling

It will look like mist

bouncing on the mountains

A few onions and potatoes

could hide in the coals

while we reminisce

about the darkness behind

Pour a glass of 2000 Merlot

that year was so simple

before our lives became pixelated

between columns of concrete

Come look at the stars

they are still at peace

high above the sun and moon -

tonight we will rise about the mountains.

An invitation to return to the simpler yet more meaningful joys of life. Offering respite from a complicated life in a concrete setting. I enjoyed your poetry very much.
