Pink and white words

Pink and white words

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I hear your voice
in poppy fields today
like bees your words
are jumping to and fro
I try to listen
but the wind sneaks in
and wraps your message
snugly in a cloud.

Pinks and blues
are comforting me now
hidden in a sea
of silent flowers
Thunder cracks
and now I'll feel your words
As drops of peace
rain on my hungry heart.

The senses of sight , sound, hearing and touch are stirred by the lines in this poem. I am finding it difficult to remember my father’s voice after 32 years. Sometimes it is just a whisper but every now and then he breaks through loud and clear. I always listen for him. Thank you for allowing me to drift as I read and felt your emotions in this piece. I also enjoyed all the beautiful references to the natural environment.
