Once upon a sunset

Once upon a sunset

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

My heart is hovering over the sea tonight

Your heat is nearly gone

But I’d like to still hold on

Your smiles of light

Still manage to coax out my grey

The waves continue to play

Their crescendo of white noise

Until everything turns

From yellow, to orange, to red

Farewell, my circle of light

I’ll chase the moon

In my fast-lane dreams

When I wake up tomorrow

I’ll  have coffee ready

Please tell me a new story

Of the depths of the sea

When you, and I, rise.

I lived a few years near the sea... and this brought me back to those waves of joy. Those moments... just at the edges of the sunset... you describe them so well... and awaken the beauty of that fading light.. melting into the waves.

Such a complete exercise of a poem. Everything seems to be complete and fine. The flow and the construction, the subject and the gentleness of it. Wonderful.

Wow, that was amazing. A conversation with the moon and Iam sure the moon enjoyed it too.
