Fragile

Fragile

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I'm a bit fragile today
My roots are dry
rain isn't coming
the heat's on
I feel bits of me
seep into fallow ground

Don't speak too loudly
your words may break
the fragile wind chime
in my mind

Just love me
from a distance
Knowing you are there
will be the mist
resting on my stubborn clay
my roots will live again,
tomorrow.

Much enjoyed the images and movement of this poem - the wind chime of the mind and its fragility in the presence of an outside voice and the persistent moisture that battles the drying of the roots. Thanks for sharing.

We have our own way of coping life's tragedies and heartbreaks, and in the end will bounce back even stronger.. Relatable piece.

Thank you for your kind words.
We all have to retain hope in times of trial and uncertainty. There is some interesting imagery in this poem. I particularly like the second stanza! Nicely expressed.
