The anonymous foxA Poem by SleeplessVolcanoI saw a red fox on the road it looked at me with answers in its eyes I felt its gaze seep through my soul it pleaded for mercy, but I had none it asked where I was going, but I did not know I could only see, the blood on the highway Satellite spatters, coloring the snow Three feet deep, was all I could do its fur still warm, but not melting the grave A cold voice mumbled, do foxes go to heaven? I don't know, I said to the back seat but I hope that this one would.
