Fishing for memoriesA Poem by SleeplessVolcanoI’m sitting alone today No bites on the line But it’s you that I miss Maybe the fish are mourning too And nature is doing its bit To add some colors To my my grey heart You never could join me here I always thought Next year And then your time ran out I’ll remember the warm moments The orange and yellows Of your effervescent smile Always could counter My stubborn blues The sun is telling me to go home But my memories of you Are so close here, in the still vastness Of never ending ocean I guess the waves took a day off For I’m standing still The only thing moving Are drops of salt water from my cheek Dripping into the ocean’s red ripple And then I hear the moon, too Go home, grieving soul You can bring us your tears again, tomorrow. © 2021 SleeplessVolcanoAuthor's Note
