Ode to an anonymous memorial

Ode to an anonymous memorial

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

My heart bleeds for you this morning, stranger

What brought about your final resting place,

Here under a windswept sand dune?

Were you hurled off the rocks by a renegade wave?
Did you love the sea, and its sound gave you peace?
It may be that the secret you took to your grave

But I will shed an anonymous tear for you here

Wishing the light of the forgiving sun

Will shine on your tear-soaked cross.

May the flooding tides of loved ones’ grief

Be met with hope, one day,

And greet the sun, right here, each morning.

Photo - my own. The cross is a bit dark, but I think it adds to the mood of the poem.

I loved the above lines my dear friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
