Duet of Senryus

Duet of Senryus

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Because of you (C)

You have changed my soul -
the pieces of my puzzle
popcorn into shape.

A tall oak you are (D)

Your words of wisdom
gave me hope in a dry place
so long, farewell, friend.

Picture of Kuwait many may not be able to link to the poems, but these are farewell poems to the powers-that-be where I work so I hope it would be special for them :) I am delighted to be able to use the word "popcorn" in a poem as a verb!

well written, brevity is not easy i think.... well not for me anyway.
i think the popcorn word works well. good on you for even dreaming up the idea.

Popcorn sounds much less violent than explode I think...it's all fluffy white and buttery and bettery. I enjoyed the read. Keep up the great writing!

These two farewell senryu, for two people who have made their mark on you and who you will remember. To have influence on someone's soul and to offer hope when there was none are certainly very fine qualities. Nicely penned. You will carry them with you wherever you travel.
