Scattered thoughts

Scattered thoughts

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

My thoughts are rising
like towering cumulonimbus clouds
over the oceans of my desolation
Winds of change scatter
bits and pieces of forgotten memories
and some I've picked up -
washed up on anonymous beaches.
I wonder whether my grey-thick clouds
will confuse a hapless traveler
lost in a rudderless vessel.
Maybe my monochrome mist
may stir someone to forge ahead
not knowing that hostile rocks lurk ahead.
The wind whispers in a stern breeze -
Don't fear for those foolish captains
their waywardness is their own calamity
and with that, I spread my wings
embrace the cold mountain
and fathomless ocean
and scatter my sky-wide thoughts,
liberally.

A wonderful poem my dear friend.
"Don't fear for those foolish captains
their waywardness is their own calamity
and with that, I spread my wings
embrace the cold mountain
and fathomless ocean
and scatter my sky-wide thoughts,
liberally."
The above lines are great wisdom and powerful thoughts. We need to spread our wings and to test life. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

We are travellers of the universe. We go where our mind compass takes us. Sometimes that journey may be risky, but we do it anyway. I felt a huge vastness here, with a small soul trying to find its way. Wonderful imagery.

brings all kinds of things to mind Sleepless! Like trying to steer my children when they were teens ... like watching political landscapes that appear headed for disaster ... like saying the heck with it ... flying off and like a bird ... just taking a dump on things :)))))))))))))))) probably not quite the image you intended .. but scattering our thoughts willy nilly seems fruitless ... its bad enough trying to speak into deaf ears ... and to people who truly don't seem to know one is present at all ... hope all is well in your world old friend ... I saw a review you left on a poem and realized I haven't stopped by your place in a while ... that vast landscape and flying above it ... unscathed will remain with me today .. maybe help me get through a few minutes of watching/listening to the news
