Unhinged

Unhinged

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Unhinged
I feel
But as I look closer
To the door of my soul
I see no hinges
Time has and is
Flowing in and out of my soul
In slow-motion
My thoughts get going
Like a cold diesel engine
On a winter’s morning
I look outside
Through the windows of my prison
The sun is shining
Skies look blue
But in my heart it’s raining
My mug of hot coffee
Tastes cold
I hear voices call my name
But it’s only a YouTube video
I take a shower
But my soul still feels sticky
A random thought
Makes me smile
And I wonder why
I want to run down the road
And hug a stranger.

Such a timely write...someday maybe we will be able to hug a stranger again.

I am becoming unhinged with this isolation...I like the picture and the broken door.
We don't want to just open the door we want to unhinge it so it will never close again.
