One breath at a time

One breath at a time

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Welcome

Leave the sandals of your soul

At the door

This zone will be a balm

To your fatigue and worries

It’s okay

For the colors of your anxieties

To bleed a bit

We may just discover

Beautiful hues of you

Never before seen.

Welcome

I see some chains still dangle

While you walk

It’s okay

As you close the wrong doors,

Those will fall off.

The prisons you were in

Are not your home anymore -

It’s time to just walk out.

Welcome

I see that you think

That you’re helping Atlas to carry the world

While we swap

Some of your midnight black

For some sunflower yellow

You’ll see

That half those burdens

Are not yours to carry.

Let it go.

Breathe out those colors of darkness

Breathe in the power of a dozen

Luminous sunrises

And you’ll feel your heart beat again

One breath at a time.

I love the opening of this one as it suggests entering a temple or other place of worship and the theme of colours fits well intoo the theme as the protagonist gives wise counsel.
