A prayer, stuck in my soul

A prayer, stuck in my soul

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

A prayer, stuck in my soul
ached to be released
and did not find heaven, but got lost
lingering in a faithless lull.

A prayer, stuck in my soul
slipped on the way to truth
lodged in a rocky crag
there where my darkest shadows hide.

A prayer, stuck in my soul
at the dusk and dawn of my doubt
confused at the strange light around
lifting me out of the dark.

The prayer stuck in my soul
got answered before it was breathed
it could not travel above
so heaven came down to me.

oh my...well expressed my friend ... taking this one to heart with me .. its those stuck prayers that cause so much angst in a person of Faith ... seems there is no "figuring it out" ..no amount of begging nor any self appointed "ways" to get right ... it simply takes heaven coming down ... and i resting in assurance we are loved ... seems real Faith abides in that place ... so glad you shared this poem sir! thank you
