many times my typos include misspelled words ... who cares ... the Huffington is who they are and will mock and ridicule our President as often as they can .. so the story becomes about misspelled words in a tweet ... I like the good natured humor in your senryu Sleepless ..its more than that because of the depth in the closing line ... walls not taken care of will crumble in time ... i have lived in more than one home in my life and because I enjoy my privacy and control over me small speck of yards ... I have straight away put up fences and or thick thorned bushes to achieve it. The push for border security includes more than a "wall" ... barriers work as deterrents and add to surveillance by our border patrols and drones ... all of it works together... Thanks for this subtly sharp political/spiritual senryu and a platform for discussions ;) its true for sure that in a much broader sense all things we "build" and all our "progress" will crumble and pass away ..what was that the prophet said so long ago?? ..oh yes "....Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher,
vanity of vanities! All is vanity.
3 What does man gain by all the toil
at which he toils under the sun?" Ecclesiastes 1:2-3 :) love and peace bro!

I'm the first advocate that meaning is more important than grammar or spelling. Having said that, if I had close to 60 million followers on Twitter I may take more time to ensure that what I post is grammatically correct. Lets rather not get into content of those tweets.
I read an interesting article on George HW Bush after his death recently, and it was amazingly balanced (coming from the NY Times), to be honest. The journalist made a valid comment that his presidency may have included the last period of when American politicians were truly bipartisan, i.e. when both Democratic and Republican politicians could get together and get work done for the benefit of all Americans. Since then, it seems that both sides of the aisle are bent on scoring points at the cost of progress of the average American (not the mention the world in general). My little tongue in cheek poem not only poked some fun at the current powers that be, but also hints seriously at the political problems the USA currently have. The divisiveness on display at the moment in American politics is no one party's fault though it does seem as if neither side are able to discuss any topic without it becoming a mudslinging fest. Alas, human toil does equal vanity, mostly, though to quote the same less depressed wise man later on:
Eccl 12:13
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
Not so sure where mankind stands at the moment on this conclusion. I do, seriously, pray for God to bless America, and the world. We may not always deserve it, but then again, we do get grace without deserving it :)

I am pretty Conservative but have been registered as Independent for many years simply because of Republican uselessness ... finally President Trump is in there and fights back hard when attacked .. but he still has few "political" friends .. they can not "own" him .. he reminds me a bit of JFK ... who also had his own wealth and could not be controlled .. it lifts my heart, Sleepless, to have your prayers for the USA .. they are joined to a whooooooooooole lot ;)
