Resurrected memories

Resurrected memories

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Thank you for your willing footprints
Next to my often wayward ones
Even when the waves are rough
Over the sands of life.

Thank you for offering me
Your half-full heart
When mine is running on empty

Thank you for adding color, again
To faded memories
And your keen exuberance
To create new pastel-colored memories
Around the grey corners
Of unknown tomorrows.

I’m glad to watch this space of life
Knowing that you’re here, with me
Even though our heres
Are jammed-packed full with miles
I’ll find solace in knowing
That soon, very soon, once more,
We’ll unpack our knapsacks of memories
And weave a few bucket-list new ones, too.

my sister is still the solid one too ... to my foolish wilding she was wisdom itself ;) and incredibly generous ... she actually let me use her first bought new car ... a white rag top '66 Austin Healey .. i never thought her foolish to do such a thing ..but thought if i were her i never would ;} but we survived all those rough waves and tho far in miles talk at least every week ... i'll be calling her today in fact ..what a touching tribute, Sleepy Guy! I hope you make sure she reads it. peace and joy my friend

A touching write, the sentiment strongly felt. Busy lives mean it can be hard to find the time to meet with siblings, yet there are so many shared memories. I thought of my brother no longer with us. Make sure you can weave some new memories.

As Divya said, "beautifully expressed"
Choose not to see my kin, wayyyyyy too much trouble, but happy that you and your sister seem to be soul mates, you and yang even.
Keep making memories.

Being away from family can be a blessing and a curse (you havent met my family, so dont judge), but isnt it amazing how instantly time and distance disolves when they call or visit? We just default into oour previous settings and suddenly we are the same as we ever were, with problems we couldnt stop worrying about being temporarily deleted like unwanted cookies.
They, and we never do change, do they/we? :)

True, and you're welcome :)
Speaks to me of enduring love and times of togetherness. Of deep bonds and connections that beat distance. So beautifully expressed!
