When words defrost

When words defrost

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I long for the rivers of her words
To flow, gently, again -
Into the ocean of my heart.

Come, snow -
Fall on those formidable mountains
Of defiant distance.

Come wind -
Melt those frozen chunks
Of petrified silence.

Let her sun-kissed words flow again -
The ocean of my soul
Needs filling.

This is one of my favorites of yours, of all I've read in a long time. The first stanza is brilliant in meaning & gracefully crafted. I love the way you say so much with so little. I love the way you use the various forms of weather in multi-layered ways. Hope your 2019 starts off with a roar! Or at least a few oinks! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Laughing at the captcha. This is a fine poem, which should melt any frozen heart. Could be taken on a couple of different levels. I read it as a lover's tiff. Lovely work. Happy New Year.
