A downpour of anger

A downpour of anger

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Entangled in anger with octopus arms
I sink into midnight black words
Wishing sincerely
For the sky to fall
And then, suddenly
A peaceful sun
Pierces these electric clouds
And I can breathe again,
And exhale
Words to calm the storm.

Since I'm bipolar, I can relate to this intensely! This is a great way to show instead of tell. The first line really captures the essence, becuz it feels like I'll never be out of the grip, but then I am. The idea of breathing when the intensity subsides -- so true to life! This could apply to a panic attack or any time that we freeze up with fear, etc. (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

An interesting write, as I suspect many of us have experienced this phenomenon. I wonder if the "peaceful sun" is to be taken literally, or if the speaker was able to do something to reduce the negative feelings.
